At Ferme Belarroyo, our focus is on making quality local goods. Our alpaca fiber is processed without chemicals by hand. Alpacas have a low carbon footprint and have less of an environmental impact in comparison to acrylic. Based in the local area, we invite you to visit and learn how fiber is transformed and the benefits of adding garments made of their fiber to your wardrobe. We're proud to say we craft unique and beautiful products right here on the farm. If you would like to arrange a visit or join our workshops, get in touch with us on the message form below for more details.
There is a great sense of joy when you work with your hands and as an added benefit your brain gets a good boost. Here at Belarroyo Farm we invite you to learn a new skill and discover the joys of spinning, felting and learn how to transform fiber in our classes or workshops.
Of course the stars are our alpacas. Alpacas are domesticated versions of vicuñas, South American ruminants that live high in the Andes. They are in the camelid family and are related to Llamas. They are prized for their fleece which is soft and possesses water and flame resistant properties. It is also very warm, being warmer than sheep and mohair.
